I like peppered shaved turkey but the supermarket closest to me doesn't carry it. I buy Oscar Mayer smoked turkey breast and then pepper it myself. I use peppered turkey for all my sandwiches. Try it the next time you buy deli meat. You're gonna love it.

Made tacos last night. Let's just say the tomatoes at the store had seen better days. They were overly ripe and felt mushy. I decided to stay away from them and grabbed some Taco Sauce. The tacos were lovely and the taco sauce worked magic as a substitute for salsa. It was hot and spicy. Just the way I liked it.

Breakfast Burrito

I woke up with huge "attaya" cravings. Attaya is a gunpowder tea originally from China. I hate it when "ndongos" make it. It's always very strong and pitch black. Yikeeesss lol

I like my attaya a bit milder (transparent) with a strong scent of naa-naa ( Mint Leaves) just like the Narr Ginarrs (Mauritanians) make their's.

Because there was no possible way on earth I was gonna get my hands on some gunpowder tea, I settled for my other craving....breakfast burritos.

Do you ever have those nights where you have absolutely no idea what to eat? Exactly what happened to me last night. I knew I was too lazy to cook so I figured I'll eat some toast but what exactly would go on this toast? I hate American peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I can't bear the sight of it so it wasn't even an option. I also ran out of butter but there was margarine in the refrigerator but No.. I'll only eat margarine if I'm starving. I know right. I'm too picky. I'm a butter girl.

Shawarma

I woke up today wanting to make Middle Eastern food. I have not eaten a shawarma ever since I relocated to Iowa. I've had gyros which are Greek wraps and very similar to shawarmas but don't taste as good.
