To Suits & the Men who Wear Them Well

Ofcourse it doesn't touch the kaftan (see last picture for proof) but it does come pretty close. What is there to say about this timeless piece of men's clothing that has thrived unequivocally ever since it's debut? Not much, just silent gratitude for the tailors who create them.

Red Lipstick & Shoulder Pads

Lord and Lady Fashion have taken a long look in the rear-view mirror, revved up their black sedan and reversed, full speed into the the 80s and, upon slowing down, arrived at the 70s. As baggy bottoms become the cool for the lady, her boyfriend’s jeans are becoming skinnier by the second. The briefcase is the office fashonista’s favorite asset and the man-purse is taking softer edges instead of sharp, square ones. Women roll up their trousers today; men roll up their trousers even higher tomorrow. The platforms, the bright colors, the Coogi® sweaters (oh yes), the blazers, socks with heels, bowties, oxfords, et cetera, et cetera.

Recently I tried my very first visible lipstick - a pastel-esque pink color that my friend coerced me to wear. Apparently this was the act of stepping out the tight little box that I had imprisoned my fashion-forward inner child in, and I should have been proud of myself. For putting on lipstick.

Amen to these slippers! Thus far my favorite shoes of 2011. I found these on luisaviaroma and they are heavenly. Too bad you can only pre order them at this time but they look like they are here to stay so no rush. I was so impressed I had to read the story behind these beauties and I found out the designer is named Charles and hails from Milan. The shoes have also been recently featured on Vogue. 2011, so far so good for fashion.

Mboko Ndimba Mobutu

I can't believe it's taken me this long to blog about Mboko. Sometime last year, I was doing a random search on Mobutu (Former president of Zaire) and randomly came across this very fashionable gentleman called Mboko Ndimba Mobutu. I adore this guy. Tonight, I happened to be reading about a Chanel briefcase and guess what? Mobutu's photograph was used. Oh my gush!! I immediately recognized him. Couldn't believe I still remembered his name afterall it's been about a year since I saw him . The 21 year old lives in Paris and is the Fashion editor and stylist of Ghubar Magazine.

Look of the day

Hola!!!

I am in bed grooving to some 80's George Michael. Here's todays Look of the day. As promised, less Proenza Schouler bags cheeky. I really love this backpack. I would have preferred it if the leather were distressed but nonetheless it has a nice finish to it. The FRYE boots and the Muubaa assymmetrical jacket were love at first sight.... J'adore!  (Please pardon my barely there French LOL) . Have yourselves a really good day. xOxO

Meet Charlotte Seck

"I am 24 and I live in Paris. When I was a child, I loved reading books especially George Sand's books and other writers from the 19th century and I always secretly dreamt of  being a writer. In 2008, I went to New York for a survey on globalization. My trip was inspiring and I started writing my first book."- Charlotte Seck

I had the honor of interviewing Charlotte Seck, a writer and fashion blogger from Senegal. We spoke about her love for fashion and her book "Sa Vie entre luxe et humanitaire". She's also working on a second book.

Look of the day

Hi guys!!

I hope everyone is having a lovely morning. Today's Look of the day is casual, fun and outgoing.  Very reminiscent of the people I left in Southern California. I promise this would be the last time I use a PS Bag in my looks hehe. I'm so obsessed with them......Jeez.  I really like the torquoise ring. Gives the look a gentle bohemian feel. The blouse is feminine and subtle while the shorts add a touch of edge.

Look of the day

Hi everyone smiley

Today's Look of the day ...I adore! I put together a black Alexander McQueen dress which I really love with a pair of Louboutin pumps. If you've read my blog before, you've probably seen the post I did on the Lady Dior purse. One of my favorite handbags and you can never go wrong. The glasses are by Diane Von Furstenberg. We also have a Miss Dior perfume which is a huge favorite of my mother's and a red Dior lipstick for a nice accent.
