Viviane Ndour - Waaw Waaw

If you're a Viviane fan, you're gonna love this song. It's grown on me (although I could do without Salam Diallo and the out of tune drumming). I find myself singing along to certain parts...ie my favorite "Yaa saf saapak sucre" hehe

The quality of Senegalese Music videos has improved drastically and it makes this Senegambian very happy. Thione Seck's new video for his song DIAGA was like a mini movie, very nicely made. I would have posted it on here but the song is 8mins long and any song that goes beyond 5 minutes loses me along the way :)

Thione Seck..this song speaks to me

This is my favorite Thione Seck song. I speak really good wolof ( or so I think lol) but I have a difficult time understanding the content of most Mbalax songs. I kinda sing along but I'm not sure what I'm singing about half the time haha. I don't know if I'm making any sense right now. It's very weird. It is much easier for me to understand English lyrics.

Back to Thione. If you are fluent in Wolof, this song is sure to move you. It is beautifully written and sung. It's a tribute to his mother and her story reminds me of every African mother and how selfless they are.
